From around 1-2pm I was very tired and felt like I just wanted to cry!! But that was mostly because I was upset -- I found out that I was being moved (yet again) to sit by a girl that I can't stand sitting by! I cannot contend with the constant negging and whining... Maybe I need to invest in an MP3 Player or something! :) I feel like I'm being punished!! Anyway- just had to get that out, don't want it to boil away at me. I have noticed that Joshua always notices when I'm down and he is always bound and determined to make me laugh and smile when I get that way- no matter how long it takes. His mood is kind of infectious, so I eventually just gave in and then my day went a lot better. Still extremely relaxed and not speaking to people much either. Focused on my work. But that just shows you how powerful your mind is, and how smiling and laughter can change it so quickly.
Maybe my bloodsugar is a bit low - maybe that's what is going on. I am not feeding it a million sugary things - I'm probably going through sugar withdrawl!!! (which would not surprise me!) I have had five drinks so far today (around 3pm) (seven by 5pm)
But all in all, day one is going pretty good. Besides having to pee every five seconds! I haven't been hungery at all. I did go through a little craving around 4:30-5 because I was getting hungry and thinking about food. A panini would be so nice right now! I was thinking. You just started - you could cheat once. QUIT IT! Went home and made more lemonade and I'm just fine now.
So far here is my drinking schedule -- (that sounds kind of funny, hehe)
2 in the morning
2 at break
2 at lunch
2 at break
2 for supper
and if I'm still hungery -- 1 more for a snack or tea
People have been writing that they use peppermint tea and add a bit of maple syrup to it and it tastes just like a candy cane! :) I might have to try that instead. I found that I am not drinking as much plain water.
Yesterday I noted that I got really hungry during 3-6pm, after I got over that kick I was pretty much fine the rest of the day and that night. This lemonade seems to tide me over better than the orange juice though.
Mood – Relaxed, calm, mellow
Symptoms – tired, tongue becoming coated, but nothing else yet, not even a headache (which is quite a relief after yesterday)
Hey – this it describes what’s going on in the body during the cleanse--
(Days 1-2)
On the first day of fasting, the blood sugar level drops below 70 mg/dl. To restore the blood to the normal glucose level, glycogen is converted to glucose and released into the blood. This reserve is enough for half a day. The body then reduces the basal metabolic rate (BMR). The rate of internal chemical activity in resting tissue is lowered to conserve energy. The heart slows and blood pressure is reduced. Glycogen is pulled from the muscle causing some weakness. The first wave of cleansing is usually the worst.
Headaches, dizziness, nausea, bad breath, glazed eyes and a heavily coated tongue are signs of the first stage of cleansing. Hunger can be the most intense in this period.
