Day Three -- Evening

Well, the rest of the day has gone pretty good. That salt water flush really flushed me out though - for most of the morning in fact. Good thing I didn't add that extra teaspoon yesterday... And I experienced one of the famous 'hot eliminations' :} You will have to excuse my -- um--graphic descriptions... ;)
I felt pretty alert all morning though, little tired throughout the early afternoon. I didn't know how much I should do today, so I just mostly sat on the couch watching anime and reading the Master Cleanse forum and learning all about fasting. Then I got up and decided to go to Barnes & Noble again and read another manga named High School Debew or something like that. I was there for three hours!! So I guess I can concentrate a bit more than I could yesterday. Or maybe this time I just picked up a manga that was actually good. That could have a lot to do with it. I read two books of it, was thinking about going for another, but forced myself leave.
Haven't really been hungry or thinking about cheating or quiting all day. And they said this was supposed to be the hardest day! Liars! Hehe. If I had to choose one - I would say that day two was definantly my hardest day. I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that I started on orange juice the day before and didn't actually 'eat' anything so to say.
I keep thinking about panini sandwiches though and how I had bought myself this new panini maker. I remember thinking when I got it home -- what did you buy this for! It's just going to make next week all the worse!! SO! I am thinking about paninis...chicken breast with melted provolone cheese all over it, I've been thinking about that all day. Mummmm.... Just thinking about it -- but not craving it enough to break down and make one like I wanted to yesterday. They say that whatever your body is detoxing and breaking down - that is what you're going to be hungry for. I had panini's every day last week - lunch/supper! SO....no wonder I want a panini! :)
During the first couple of days your body will crave all those bad processed foods, but by the end of it your body will want all those good foods instead! :)
By the way, while I was at B&N I got a bit rosey in the face and hot - all I was doing was sitting in a comfy chair reading, so I don't know why. I was wearing a sweatshirt though, (cause it's usually an icebox in there) so that could be why. That still hasn't gone away, so I am sitting in front of the fan now. I even checked if I had a fever, but I don't. That's also not uncommon with fasting though, for your body to react as if you have the flu or a cold, get a slight fever or the chills. bundle up! :) Well, I would sit in front of a fan anyway. Even when I was chilly this morning. Cause I'm crazy I guess.
Oh my gosh -- As I was sitting in B&N I could smell chocolate something. Man did it smell delicious!! :) Oddly it didn't make me hungry or anything, I was completely satisfied just smelling it from across the room! They say that your sense of smell gets really good after day two and you will begin to notice those things more.
Mood: feeling pretty good at the moment! Optimistic. Can concentrate and feel alert. Not overly tired like I was yesterday.
Symtoms: um, aside from the killer runs to the bathroom all morning?.... :) Hot or chilly during the day. Thirsty all day! Mucus in the throat is very thick, coughing gunk up from my throat periodically. Extremely annoyed that I don't have kleenexes!
Hunger Cravings: pretty low, but they flare up from time to time, mostly when I'm bored. I'm starting to wonder if my body has adjusted already and it is embracing this fast. There has been a marked difference in my thinking compared to yesterday.

Uhh... Let me find the next stage of that detox thing...
This is the stage where the body stops pulling glycogen from the muscles and instead pulls it from the fats---
Fats, composed of transformed fatty acids, are broken down to release glycerol from the gliceride molecules and are converted to glucose. The skin may become oily as rancid oils are purged from the body. People with problem-free skin may have a few days of pimples or even a boil. A pallid complexion is also a sign of waste in the blood. Ketones are formed by the incomplete oxidation of fats. It is suspected that the ketones in the blood suppress the appetite by affecting the food-satiety center in the hypothalamus. You may feel hungry for the first few days of the fast. This effect is temporary. The desire to eat will disappear. Lack of hunger may last 40 to 60 days, depending on whether you are on water or juice.

The body embraces the fast and the digestive system is able to take a much-needed rest, focusing all of its energies on cleansing and healing. White blood cell and immune system activity increases. You may feel pain in your lungs. The cleansing organs and the lungs are in the process of being repaired. Periodically, the lymphatic system expels mucoid matter through the nose or throat. The volume excreted of this yellow-colored mucus can be shocking. The sinuses go through periods of being clogged, then will totally clear. The breath is still foul and the tongue coated. Within the intestine, the colon is being repaired and impacted feces on the intestinal wall start to loosen.

That's lovely. :)
I wanna watch anime now!!! Goodnight! :)
