Okay, this morning I just chugged the entire SWF as fast as I could! and took a nice long hot shower while waiting for it to go through my system. -- well -- until my neighbor desided to get up at 6:15am and take a shower too and my hot shower turned into an ice COLD shower!!!! It doesn't matter what time I get up in the morning, she's always taking a shower! ANyway...
I woke up about 5:30am with some bad cramps from the sienna tea, that only got worse the longer I lay there. But as soon as I was up and about they started to go away. My side is just really tender and sore today and as the day progressed it has travled from my side up below the chest - like the diaphram or something. Anyway -- I just ache.Got the 'glazed-over-eyes' most of the day, my body is trying to adjust to this low blood sugar I suppose.
I didn't crave any food yet, but I got hungry around 9:30am. Not a craving - but the actual hunger pangs and rumbling, so I guess that's my body's natural 'feed me breakfast' time. :) I drank the lemonade around 7am this morning and not again until 10:30, then again at 12:15 and 3:00 -- those were the times I noticed I was actually hungry.
And oh man -- 5 o'clock hit and I just wanted to sit down and eat a big sandwhich - or cereal -- or SOMETHING!!! I was thinking about food and quiting this cleanse from 5-7! :) I had gone to Barnes and Noble to sit and read a manga and couldn't concentrate - I was literally hungry again and hadn't brought any lemonade to tide me over - I feel really tired this afternoon. So I decided to come home again and spend the rest of the night here. This achy-muscley pain is just killing me though. But I know it's a detox symptom -- probably that thing I read about the body pulling glycogen out of the muscles to convert to fuel. I am determined to make it to tomorrow!! One day at a time.
They have rightfully named Day Two as - The Wall - Because so far your body hasn't adjusted to what you're doing yet. It takes at least three or four days for your body to embrace the fast and use it to heal your body. Your digestive track takes up almost 25% of your energy - so when you make it so it doesn't have to digest these terrible things we put into our bodies, it concentrates on other things - your immune system is boosted - especialy with all the vitamins and nutrience that is from the lemons and maple syrup and the cayenne. But I'll write about that stuff in a later post. :) I never knew anything about fasts and how they were acutally beneficial before I started researching this. I always thought that people who fasted did it for religious reasons - though I've heard that your spiritual side becomes more active - you tend to pray more - think of God more... I had always pondered how Jesus fasted in the desert for those 40 days - to think that he might have done it for more reasons than I had suspected. I suppose it is a time where you're more aware of what you're doing to yourself - you rely more on God to be your strength. I'll have to look into that stuff.
But anyway, I haven't quite figured out the cayenne pepper measurement yet. It's either too hot and burns my tongue off (ok not nearly as bad as when I took a whole teaspoon of it!) or it's not hot enough. Either way -- I don't think I will ever be able to drink Lemonade without cayenne pepper again! It just gives it this kick. WHOA!! hehe :) The guy who wrote this book -- it's called The Master Cleanse, by Tom Woloshyn -- says that the first time he did this cleanse he did it to prove his friend wrong - that it didn't work! He became healthier afterwards, and hasn't been to a doctor since his first cleanse 25 years ago. That would be amazing. I really do not believe in the current medical establishment - other than for extreme emergencies. I don't like going to the doctor and I don't like putting their chemicals into my body to make me 'feel' better and not treat the ailment itself. I know that most of my ailments probably stem from my weight issues.
Anyway-- I'm glad I've been writing this - it takes my mind off of food for the moment. I drank some lemonade and have been fine though anyway. I left some sitting in the bottom of my glass for about half and hour and decided to drink the rest of it - little did I know that by that time it had turned into Cayenne pepper tea! :) HOT!!
